Are you from Orokam? Have you had the privilage and pleasure of going to Ênumabia?Did I hear someone say no?Then you missed out.Énumabia is a spring water located in Orokam,Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.(Tourists take note).
What is your experience,going through the narrow,crooked and hilly road?(I heard someone scream "elle").Orokamm
ites do not only go to the spring to get the much needed water but also to catch fun.It is a sort of adventure.Going to Énumabia,a guinea savannah-like vegetation precedes the tick forest that houses the stream.This land is used for farming as well as hunting (offitè).Animals such as "õbije"(Grass-c
utter),"okwureje"(Squirrel),"Ije and Èwa"(Giunea fowls) among others are found there.The land rises steadily as one approaches the peak of the cliff that almost enclosed the spring.The cliff is about 45 metres tall.Monkeys,among other animals are occasionally seen displaying their climbing skills and stamina.
FIRST-TIMERS' ESCAPADE
Going to Ènumabia for the first time may not be a palatable experience (depending on one's perception).Apart from endurant journey through the narrow,crooked and hilly road,it is traditional that every first-timer,irr
espective of age or gender must dance before stepping into the stream (an uphill task for poor dancers and shy people).However,the rendezvous makes our peers crave to visit Ènumabia in order to share in our experience.
EVENING VERSION AND ITS INTRIGUES.
There is evening version (usually for mature people) called "omnaare" meaning a return straight to dinner.Moonlight is a necessity for this adventure.A line-up of various groups of people,singing melodious songs amidst cheers,teasings and laughter.No rough play,no harassment of any kind.
They enjoy abundant grace of God - no snakebite,no attack of any kind,but fun all the way.Do people still go to Ènumabia in this era of "borehole revolution"?
